Whispers of deaths, near-death experiences, and unexpected demises have been pouring in–as well as excited shouts (typed and otherwise) announcing births–on-time as well as preemies…I can’t help wondering —What is the deal with December?
Every year–this month forces me to face the transience of the human experience–and how the space sandwiched in between should not be taken for granted. Perhaps it is apt, as many of us are jotting down resolutions for the new year (or even the new decade!) in the tail-end of this month.

What else, what else, what else…Oh yeah! It been raining cats and dogs in Lahore for the past few days. The rainfall has apparently broken a twenty-plus year old record in the region. Which translates into flooded basements, fear of electrocution while at the local super-mart buying cat food, and nasty flies that insist on playing tag with your forehead. *sigh* Not fun.
